Three up, three down for visiting Mililani against Campbell sophomore Dani Cervantes.
Sabers get a single by Cydney Curran in the bottom half of the first, Aubree Kim shuts them down.
2nd
Cervantes retires the Trojans 1-2-3 again.
Sierra Mariano slugs a triple to left for Campbell with one out. Kim strikes out Darien Robinson and Trinity Favela swinging at outside-corner area fastballs.
Still no score after two innings.
3rd
Cervantes rolling. She retires three in a row and has a perfect game going.
Campbell gets a walk and a single, but Kim fans Elisa Favela to end the threat.
4th
Trojans finally get on base with a couple of walks, Cervantes remains poised and gets Shannon Pascua-Stanton to chase a high fastball for a third strike.
Kim notches her first 1-2-3 inning, striking out Mariano and Robinson.
No score after four frames.
5th
Cervantes regains momentum. She strikes out Tristan Cozonon a wicked sinker and retires the side in order. She has gone 1-2-3 in four of the five innings so far.
Campbell breaks the scoreless duel with five runs. Cydney Curran doubled to bring home Trinity Favela, who led off with an infield single. Cleanup hitter Elisa Favela’s clutch bunt single brought Cieana Curran home on a play that surprised most everybody.
Caraugh Morris’ bloop single over first base brought in Curran and Jocelyn Alo for a 4-0 lead.
Elisa Favela later scored on a wild pitch for a 5-0 lead.
6th
Brooke Yasuds reached base on a throwing error by Robinson, but Cervantes whiffs Keri Togsmi and retires the side unscathed.
Cydney Currsn draws a two-out walk and reaches second base on a wild pitch, but Kim retires Alo on a liner to first baseman Pascua-Stanton.
7th
Cozo ends the no-hit bid by Cervantes with a soft single to center on an 0-2 pitch and two outs in the top of the inning. Cervantes then gets Markie Okamoto to fly out and Campbell wins 5-0.
Impressive.
