From the ILH:
Punahou defeated Iolani tonight 25-20, 25-17, 25-17. Coupled with Kamehameha’s win tonight over Mid-Pacific…Punahou, Iolani and Kamehameha finished tied for first place in the 2nd Round with 4-1 records.
According to our sport operational procedures and ILH handbook, there needed to be a card draw to determine the bye team in the 3-team playoff. We held the draw tonight at Punahou following the match. Athletic directors from all three schools were present. Punahou drew the bye. Home site for the matches were and will be determined by head-to-head results from the 2nd Round. Here’s the resulting schedule:
THURSDAY
Iolani vs. Kamehameha, 5:00 PM @ Iolani
FRIDAY
Punahou vs. Iolani/Kamehameha Winner, time and site TBA
*PUN vs. KSK would be played at Kamehameha
*PUN vs. IOL would be played at Punahou (However, Punahou is hosting ILH Cheerleading on Friday)
SATURDAY
If necessary: Iolani (1st Round Winner) vs. Punahou or Kamehameha (2nd Round Winner), time TBA @ Iolani
If necessary: Punahou vs. Kamehameha (for 2nd place overall & second ILH state berth), time and site TBA (However, Kamehameha is hosting a luau on Saturday)
Due to the gym conflict, we might need to have the PUN vs. KS playoff match next week Monday. In this case, “ILH #2” will be inserted in the HHSAA D1 State Championshiip Tournament Bracket.
ADMISSION: These are “unscheduled”, tie-breaking playoff matches and special playoff admission procedures are to be followed.
