The hot streak cooled on Saturday for Chanelle Molina and the Norrköping Dolphins in a 73-69 loss to IK EOS.

The road loss ended the Dolphins’ three-game win streak. Norrköping dropped to 3-2 and third place in the Swedish Basketball League. IK EOS (4-1) is now in sole possession of second place. Alvik (5-0) is the frontrunner.

Camille Zimmerman led the Dolphins with 17 points. Molina scored 14.

IK EOS limited Norrköping to its lowest offensive output since a season-opening loss. Norrköping had averaged 83 points per game in its last three games.

“I don’t think there’s any positives that we can take away from this game,” said Molina, who came into the game averaging 21.8 points per game. “Our halfcourt offense can improve in terms of having a better flow. The past few games, we relied on our high-paced, fastbreak style of play, so this time when that wasn’t working and we needed to slow it down, there was no flow. That’s something I feel we can improve on tremendously.”

The travel time, 4.5 hours for a 280-mile trek one way to Lund, was the longest of the season so far. The Dolphins are 1-2 in away games and 2-0 at home. For a team that had four days of practice before its season opener, a four-point road loss — in a game that was tied after three quarters — seems highly surmountable. The schedule of one game per week will give the Dolphins time to develop.

“I don’t feel great, but that’s the game of basketball,” Molina added. “I meditate and journal. It’s a way for me to release and let go.”

Norrköping hosts Marbo (0-5) next Saturday.
