It was a formality since the visit of new Oregon head football coach Willie Taggart to the home of brothers Tua and Taulia Tagovailoa over the weekend.
Today, the Ducks offered Taulia Tagovailoa a scholarship while Florida threw an offer Tua’s way according to Kapolei coach Darren Hernandez.
Oregon is where one of Tua’s mentors, former All-State quarterback Marcus Mariota of Saint Louis became a Heisman Trophy winner before being drafted by the Tennessee Titans.
Tua just completed his senior season, powering the Saint Louis Crusaders to the Open Division state crown. He has been committed to top-ranked Alabama for several months and plans to enroll there in January after graduating early from high school.
Taulia is a sophomore at Kapolei who sparked the Hurricanes to an Open Division quarterfinal upset win over Punahou. He also has offers from Alabama, Utah and Hawaii.
So much for the Hawaii offer. It’s almost like a JV program.
UH should offer Gabriel of Mililani. Dad played for UH,why not. Still got 2 more years. Make Hawaii Great Again. Get Rosario on board with academics. A lot of talent out there.
Mark B, we could have beaten Oregon this year. Everyone else did and they fired their coach. We rising and they going down. Go Warriors!
They gonna offer the kapolei qb that couldn’t even move the ball or throw a td on us but not even look at Sol-Jay?
Taulia is very deserving. SolJay will definitely get his, he’s a special talent as well…
U of Hawai‘i sucks anyway. In order to beat the best, you play with the best. Not going to accomplish that at UH.
