Punahou’s Duke Clemens has earned an invitation to the 2019 Polynesian Bowl All-Star game today.
Clemens, a 6-foot-4, 250-pound offensive lineman, holds 16 scholarship offers: Arizona State, Boise State, California, Duke, Georgia Tech, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Oregon State, Rice, San Diego State, Syracuse, UCLA, Utah, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Washington State.
Clemens is a three-sport standout who was a member of Punahou’s state championship boys basketball team this season. He is also on the baseball team that will compete in the state tournament next week.
He is the sixth current Hawaii high school player to earn a bid to the Polynesian Bowl, joining Saint Louis defensive lineman Faatui Tuitele, Punahou linebacker Maninoa Tufono, Kapolei offensive lineman Julius Buelow, Kahuku offensive lineman Enokk Vimahi and Kaimuki defensive tacklel Sama Pa’ama.
Former Mililani athlete Asa Turner and ex-Kapolei quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa have also been selected to the game, which will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, at Aloha Stadium.
Pa’ama has already committed to the University of Washington and Tagovailoa recently committed to join his brother, Tua, at Alabama.
