Kapolei defensive end Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa- has received a football scholarship offer from Notre Dame.
Notre Dame Digest reported the offer on Wednesday via its Twitter page.
Irish Sports Daily later reported that Tagovailoa-Amosa may make an official visit to the South Bend, Ind. campus.
The most recent football island recruits to play for the Fighting Irish were former Punahou standouts Manti Te’o and Robby Toma (2009-12).
The all-state first teamer now has 14 offers: Air Force, Arizona, Army, Georgia Tech, Hawaii, Navy, UNLV, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oregon State, USC, Utah State, Vanderbilt and Virginia.
As a scholar-athlete and NCAA Clearinghouse qualifier, his ascent in the college recruiting battles is heightened by the need for elite defensive linemen every year.
Wippyyyy…ain’t got nothing like his cousin
Damien could beat kapolei
Probably, but Punahou couldn’t. Hahahaha, just saying.
Didn’t the Kahuku DE play at ND? He was opposite of Hauoli Jamora in high school?
So awesome for him, ND is a world class academic institution as for the FB team they had a bad season and Kelly may be out as early as next year. IMO he could have been the All-State DPOY.
@Chloropicrin: You’re right. Evidently, Honda overlooked Kahuku’s DE, Kona Swenke who played for ND from 2010-2013.
Sorry. misspelt his last name….Schwenke.
Congrats young man!
A prestigious Notre dame degree will have you set for LIFE and their football tradition is awesome.
Kahuku recruited schwenke. Just like kapolei recruited taulia.
Yeah Kahuku recruited Schenke straight out of Laie Elementary.
