Raymond Torii Field is in the final four.
The USA Today’s Best High School Stadium Poll is now in its third round and Waianae’s Torii Field is one of the semifinalists. Last week’s voting began with a strong surge for Jelsma Stadium (Okla.), but voters pushed Torii to a landslide victory.
Out of 38,291 votes, Torii Field finished with nearly 67 percent of the count with 25,615. Jelsma tallied 33 percent (12,676).
The new round pits Torii Field against heavy favorite R.R. Jones Stadium of El Paso, Texas. As of 7 a.m. today (Monday), R.R. Jones already has a lead of 3,828 votes to Torii Field’s 1,035.

Last week, R.R. Jones Stadium amassed 178,163 votes to rout Eagle Stadium (Texas), home of Allen High School.
Unlike previous weeks when voting ended on a Saturday, this round will end on Thursday (Halloween).

After trailing R.R. Jones Stadium by nearly 3,000 votes this morning, Waianae’s Raymond Torii Field has closed the gap with a furious comeback. The race is now neck-a-neck with R.R. Jones at 46,680 votes (50.9 percent) to Torii Field’s 45,048 (49.1 percent). That’s a total count of 91,728 after less than 24 hours. The voting will end on Thursday (Halloween).

R.R. Jones Stadium has maintained a 3-percent lead in the voting since Tuesday. With 417,489 votes counted, the El Paso (Texas) school has 51.8 percent, or 216,299 votes. Raymond Torii Field has 48.2 percent (201,190 votes).

I have been stationed in El Paso and I have seen their field and they have nothing on Waianae, from our sunsets to the view of the ocean at any given time the community can be heard all along the coastline! Unlike El Paso it is a desert environment that is unable to produce the same vibes as Waianae! El Paso only made me homesick and I left to go back to Waianae, which Is where I graduated from and is still my hometown.
My 3 boys graduated from here. Graduations on this field were awesome with the sunset. No brainer, most beautiful field ever!
