Mililani quarterback Dillon Gabriel has been selected to participate in the 2019 Polynesian Bowl.
Gabriel, a 6-foot, 190-pound lefty, is the state’s leading passer this season with 1,063 yards and 14 touchdowns with a 58-percent (69-for-119) completion percentage and no interceptions in four games.
Through 31 career games over his four-year varsity career, Gabriel has thrown for 7,164 yards and 81 touchdowns and is closing in on the state’s all-time career passing mark.
He led the Trojans to the Division I state championship in 2016 and the semifinals of the Open Division state tournament last year.
Mililani is 23-7 in games he leads the team in passing yards.
Gabriel, who is committed to Army, is the eighth player from the class of 2019 in Hawaii selected for the game. To view the entire Polynesian Bowl roster, click here.
The third annual Polynesian Bowl high school football all-star game will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019 at Aloha Stadium
Over the next nine weeks, Hawaii Prep World and Cover2: Hawaii High School Football Weekly will announce selections for the game from Hawaii every Thursday. The Cover2 announcement will be tonight during the show beginning at 9:30 p.m. on KHON2.
Gabriel and the third-ranked Trojans will host No. 5 Punahou on Saturday night at John Kauinana Stadium in the first meeting between the two schools since Mililani won its first state title in 2014.
