Kapolei’s De’Zhaun Stribling named Polynesian Bowl All-Star

Kapolei senior De’Zhaun Stribling is the second Hurricane to be named a 2020 Polynesian Bowl All-Star.

Stribling, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound receiver, is currently second in the state with 746 receiving yards on 56 receptions with nine touchdowns in nine games.

He currently holds offers from Hawaii and San Diego State.


Stribling will be joined in the Polynesian Bowl by Hurricanes teammate Maceal Afaese, an Oregon commit.

A total of 25 players who graduated from Hawaii high schools have been selected to the game. Saint Louis leads the way with eight players selected, followed by Mililani (four), Kahuku (three), Punahou and Kapolei (two) and Farrington, Campbell, Waipahu, Konawaena, ‘Iolani and Kamehameha (one).


The other players in the game from Hawaii are Saint Louis linebackers Jordan Botelho and Nick Herbig and defensive tackle Stanley McKenzie, Punahou defensive back Alaka’i Gilman and offensive lineman Solatoa Moea’i, Saint Louis receivers Roman Wilson, Koali Nishigaya and Matt Sykes, Kahuku offensive linemen Micah Soliai Howlett and Marcus Lombard and cornerback Kaonohi Kaniho, Mililani linebackers Muelu Iosefa and Bam Amina, defensive lineman Shane Kady and offensive lineman Sergio Muasau, Farrington offensive lineman Faaope Laloulu, Saint Louis quarterback Jayden de Laura and safety Kamo’i Latu, Waipahu running back Alfred Failauga, Campbell two-way standout Tamatoa Mokiao-Atimalala, Konawaena linebacker Alex Muti, ‘Iolani safety Lanakila Pei and Kamehameha defensive end Ezra Evaimalo.


The 2020 Polynesian Bowl will take place Saturday, Jan. 18, at Aloha Stadium featuring 100 of the best high school football players in the country. The majority of the players will be of Polynesian ancestry.
