Kahuku senior Kekaula Kaniho is the second Red Raider this season named a USA Today Top Star.
Kaniho won a fan vote against 10 other players across the nation to win the award this week, joining teammate Stokes Nihipali-Botelho, who won it earlier this year.
Kaniho has returned interceptions for touchdowns in three of Kahuku’s last four games. The top-ranked Red Raiders have scored 11 total touchdowns on defense this season, shut out six opponents, and allowed only one TD in the last 30 quarters against Hawaii teams.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound defensive back holds FBS scholarship offers from Army, Boise State, Colorado, Hawaii, UNLV, San Diego State, Vanderbilt and Washington State.
Kahuku is ranked No. 22 in the nation by USA Today and plays Farrington on Friday night at Aloha Stadium for the OIA Division I title.
Solid!
Yep, rock solid that has wings that can fly; CONGRATS KEKAULA and stay healthy.
All this means is what we in the 808 nei already know: Kahuku has the best fans in the world
Anytime a Hawaii HS athlete is nominated we should all vote. 808 kids Rep Da Rock..
True that, Kahuku and Red Raider Nation has the GREATEST fans in the nation. That was evident when they went to Las Vegas and played #1 Bishop Gorman. Gorman has never sold out their stadium, even against top teams like St. John Bosco. Fans in Vegas are still talking about it. However, if another player from Hawaii was nominated, I believe the state would vote to honor their own.
now i hope all you red raiders vote red next week, lets make this country great again
Already mailed my vote.
