9:48: Backup quarterback Kekoa Turnagan finds Ramos with an 8-yard TD pass. LEILEHUA 35, FARRINGTON 0, 5:02 left in fourth quarter. Running clock.

9:41: Mules are driving.

9:37: Farrington just misses a pass from Chaffin to Rios in the end zone on a fourth-down play. Leilehua takes on downs.

9:35: Peleafei returns the punt 23 yards for Farrington to the Leilehua 34.

9:34: Farrington punts and then the Mules punt from deep in their own territory.

9:29: Third quarter ends.

9:26: Leilehua eventually bogs down and Farrington takes over on downs at the Govs’ 39.

9:19: Cody Akagi gains a yard on a fourth down and inches situation at the Mules’ 42. First down.

9:16: Jashawn Wakefield recovers a Farrington fumble. Mules take over at their 18.

9:14: Two passes from Chaffin to Kainoa Mane cover 69 yards and the Govs are deep in Mules territory at the 12.

9:08: The Mules get one first down on their first possession of the second half, but stall and punt it away.

9:05: Farrington loses the ball on a fumble recovery by the Mules’ Jaku Hanohano-Baptista after a hit by teammate Kiaka Pio.

8:40: Second quarter ends

8:41: TJ Paleafei returns the Leilehua kick 36 yards and is tackled out of bounds by the Mules’ Narwin Luther.

8:39: On third and goal from the 4, Smith takes an Akagi pitch to the left into the end zone for a touchdown. LEILEHUA 28, FARRINGTON 0, 0:10 left in second quarter.

8:34: Benjamin Lockman latches on to a 14-yard pass from Kalei Akagi, and then Kawela Kahuiolkalani rumbles for 15 yards to the Govs 24. Four straight runs by Damarion Smith pushes the ball to the 4. It’s second and goal from the 4.

8:30: Farrington gives up the ball on downs. Mules take over on their own 34.

8:28: Millare is carted off the field with what looks like a wrist injury.

8:19: On first down, AKagi fades back and hits Vasquez with a long pass. Vasquez breaks two tackles en route to a 64-yard touchdown. Edwards kicks the extra point. LEILEHUA 21, FARRINGTON 0, 5:52 to go in second quarter.

8:17: Cy Acohido hits Chaffin and forces him to fumble. Mules teammate Laakea Umiamaka recovers. Leilehua ball at its own 36.

8:13: The Governors cross midfield to the Leilehua 35 on Chaffin’s 15-yard scramble.


8:10: On the next play, Cody Akagi goes up the middle for a 5-yard TD run. Edwards kicks the extra point. LEILEHUA 14, FARRINGTON 0, 9:09 left in second quarter.

8:08: A reverse pitch sweep by Ramos goes for 15 yards and a first down at the Farrington 5.

8:05: The Mules have a fourth down and 9 to go at the 19. They call time out. A field goal would be tough — into the wind.

8:01: Kalei Akagi slant passes of 22 yards to Rayden Rulloda Kim and 28 yards to Jonathan Vasquez pushes the ball to the Govs 20.

7:57: First quarter ends.

7:55: Leilehua ball at its own 25.

7:54: Farrington can’t move and will punt for the first time. On that last series, Jonan Aina-Chaves — the St. Francis transfer — took one snap. He left the game after his helmet fell off.

7:51: Govs take over at their 37.

7:50: Leilehua can’t move and will be the first team to punt.

7:46: Farrington gains just six yards on four downs and turns the ball over on downs.

7:45: Chaffin’s pass to Isaiah Rios goes for 12 yards to the 20.

7:42: An offside penalty on the Mules gives the Govs another first down — at the 32.

7:40: Chaffin scrambles for 13 yards and the Govs’ second first down. Ball is at the Leilehua 39.

7:37: Darius Chaffin in at QB for Farrington.

7:35: On the next play, Kalei Akagi runs up the middle for a 22-yard touchdown. Joseph Edwards kicks the extra point. LEILEHUA 7, FARRINGTON 0, 9:16 remaining in the first quarter.

7:34: Kalei Akagi’s 18-yard screen pass to Jayzon Ramos moves the ball to the Govs 22.

7:33: Mules moving.

7:31: Kalei Akagi is in at QB for the Mules.

7:29: Leilehua receives kick. Governors defending south end zone.

Pregame Notes:
7:28: Faaope Laloulu is not playing. The offensive lineman is injured, apparently.

7:18: Windy night at Skippa Diaz Stadium.


7:17: Farrington won the JV game 20-14.

    Austin Chang from GOVS? I heard he moved to Vegas.if I’m not mistaken he might be playing for Sierra Vista
