With all-everything Teshya Alo and Lalelei Mataafa off to greener pastures, there is finally room for someone else at the top of Hawaii Prep World’s first Pound-for-Pound list of the season.

Radford’s Angela Peralta is that wrestler going into today’s Officials Tournament, one of many reigning state champs.

Peralta finished last year third on this list behind the Hall of Honor recipients, with Iverly Navarro fifth and three other returners including Waianae’s Tehani Carlson, who might be injured. Kamehameha’s Donavyn Futa is the other girl not wrestling at Officials this week.

Teniya Alo moved from ‘Iolani to Kahuku and takes the third spot after rallying to take third at states last year despite being injured.

There are 10 state champions returning this year, making this list as solid 1-10 as it has ever been. As always, the pound-for-pound is highly subjective and will be updated throughout the year.
