The two-day Pa’ani Challenge, hosted by Punahou, ends this afternoon with some intriguing matchups on tap.
A potential 138-pound final between Lahainaluna’s Nanea Estrella and Baldwin’s Jahnea Miguel would be the headliner. Both are currently in the semifinals and need a win to pit against each other the No. 3 and No. 4 pound-for-pound wrestlers in the Hawaii Prep World rankings, which will be updated after this weekend.
Estrella, a two-time state champion, won the 127-pound title at Officials last week but has moved up two weight classes for this tournament. Miguel, who is also a two-time state champion, was the No. 1 seed at 138 pounds at Officials but missed weight on the second day and was disqualified.
UPDATE: Estrella and Miguel are into the final.
