The showdown of the day at the Pa‘ani Challenge on Saturday was No. 3-ranked Nanea Estrella of Lahainaluna against No. 4 Jahnea Miguel of Baldwin in the 138 weight class final. Estrella is a two-time state champion in the 117 and 122 weight classes. Miguel is a two-time state champion in 127 and 145. Estrella rallied for a rollicking 12-9 victory. Kamehameha junior Kysen Terukina, the No. 1-ranked boys pound-for-pound wrestler in Hawaii Prep World’s rankings, has jumped into the top 10 in the nation at 120 pounds. In the latest FloWrestling rankings released on Christmas Day, Terukina jumped from No. 12 to No. 9 in the country. There are three seniors, three juniors and two freshmen ranked ahead of him.
