Seiuli-Sanchez ignites Waipahu defense

Lafo Seiuli-Sanchez is a game-changer — or at least he was in Hawaii’s version of Monday Night Football. Due to the threat of Hurricane Lester, the Oahu Interscholastic Assocition moved the Waipahu-Roosevelt football game from Saturday to Monday at Aloha Stadium, and the Marauders’ Seiuli-Sanchez put on a show. Braden Amorozo threw for 316 yards and accounted for two second-half touchdowns to help Waipahu hold off host Nanakuli 20-12 on Friday in the season-opener for both teams. Amorozo completed 22 of 33 passes for the Marauders (1-0). His 3-yard run broke a 6-all tie and Waipahu completed the two-point conversion for a 14-8 lead with 2:30 left in the third quarter.
