Waipahu has positive vibes for field completion

If things go well without further delays, Waipahu’s brand-new artificial turf football field will be ready for the Marauders’ home opener on Aug. 25 against Roosevelt. “They have started the lay on the track and the contractor is trying hard to get it done,” Waipahu athletic director Stacie Nii wrote in an email to Hawaii Prep World. “Looks good as far as dates, weather permitting. Moanalua field not ready; Waipahu delayed

The Moanalua football team will not be playing home games this football season and will be practicing at local parks, according to a source close to the situation. Work on the school’s track and football field was supposed to be completed before the season starts, but has been continually delayed. Instead of home games, Moanalua will most likely play at the scheduled opponents’ home fields. A neutral site is also a possibility. The OIA is in the process of revising […]

It’s title night in the OIA at Aloha Stadium with the Division I and Division II OIA championship games taking place. The Division II battle features 2006 and ’11 OIA D-II champion Waipahu (8-1) against Waialua (6-2), which is looking to end a 61-year title drought.
