The defending OIA and state champion Mililani Trojans put their 21-game winning streak against Hawaii teams on the line in Friday night’s second OIA semifinal against the Waianae Seasiders at Aloha Stadium. Mililani will again be without injured quarterback McKenzie Milton but has plenty of offensive firepower with RB Vavae Malepeai, who is chasing the all-time rushing record held by ‘Iolani’s Joe Igber. Kailua has come a long way since last year’s winless season, but now the Surfriders face a trip to Waianae to keep it going. Noah Auld‘s injury-plagued junior year left Kailua in dire straits offensively, but his return late in the season provided hope.
