Pearl City’s offense was in quick-strike mode and its defense was in shutdown mode Friday against Waialua. Makoa Cooper rushed seven times for 140 yards and four touchdowns in the first quarter and the Chargers’ defense held the visiting Bulldogs to minus-15 yards of total offense in a 64-0 rout. No JV football again for Waialua

The most recent football schedule issued by the Oahu Interscholastic Association shows that Waialua will not play any JV football games this year. Bulldogs athletic director Bryce Kaneshiro confirmed that Monday. “It’s been a recurring problem,” said Kaneshiro, who added that Waialua hasn’t had a JV team since 2013. “Kids show interest at signups and that gives us hope,” he said. “Then in the summer that interest starts to wane and some kids decide not to play.” About 35 players […]

Castle is experiencing problems with the lights at its football field and will be playing all 2017 league games on the road against the regularly scheduled opponents.
