The three-time defending state champion Saint Louis Crusaders are finally ready to make their season debut. Seniors Nick Herbig and Koali Nishigaya talked to Hawaii Prep World’s Paul Honda about the transition and chemistry of veteran and young additions to the 2019 Saint Louis football roster. Saint Louis opens the season at Kapolei on Thursday riding a 26-game winning streak.
The 2019 season marks a change in offensive philosophy for Kamehameha coach Abu Ma‘afala. The former Cal and Hawaii defensive lineman is in his fourth season as head coach at his alma mater. He also chats about each opponent on the Open Division schedule, pointing to this week’s Punahou game as a “measuring stick.”
