Freshman quarterback John-Keawe Sagapolutele passed for 217 yards and two TDs and running back Vincent Terrell scores two TDs in Punahou’s 44-13 win at No. 8 Kapolei. Punahou improved to 4-0 overall (3-0 ILH Open Division). Alaka‘i Gilman and Jonah Henry return interceptions for touchdowns to spark Punahou’s defense, which had not allowed a touchdown all season until Kapolei’s Jayven Reyes scored with 2:26 to go in the second quarter.

The Fagaitua football team from American Samoa will be leaving Monday after a two-week visit to Hawaii. The visit included a 29-8 loss to No. 7 Kamehameha on Friday, a trip to the University of Hawaii’s 45-38 victory over Arizona at Aloha Stadium, two practices at No. 2 Mililani with the Trojans, and one practice each at Kamehameha with the Warriors and at Waianae with the Seariders. After rallying to take a 14-7 lead at the half, Waialua extended its lead after intermission over Vincent Massey Collegiate, the No. 6-ranked team in Canada. Backup QB Kyler Dicion passed for 261 yards and four TDs, including three strikes to two-way ironman Kai Hoekstra. Vincent Massey finished the game with 597 yards of total offense, but fell to Waialua 43-27.
