Kahuku junior offensive lineman Enokk Vimahi landed his first scholarship offer from the SEC on Thursday. Ole Miss became the 10th school overall to offer the 6-foot-4, 260-pound Vimahi, who opens his season Friday night at home against Leilehua. Kapolei defensive end Kukea Emmsley, who picked up nine scholarship offers since the start of the year, has decided to end his recruitment in time for the start of his senior season. It’s not unusual for a North Shore boy to get a full-ride scholarship offer. What is unusual is that the player plays for a school at the northwestern tip of Oahu and not the northeastern. When the recruiting web site 247sports.com released its first recruiting rankings for the class of 2019, Saint Louis’ Faatui Tuitele, Kahuku’s Enokk Vimahi and Punahou’s Maninoa Tufono were all placed in the top 100 overall. Punahou linebacker Maninoa Tufono spent last weekend participating in the USC Rising Stars Camp in Los Angeles and earned an MVP award for his efforts. The real award, however, was coming soon after.
