Kamehameha’s Kuewa to play for Hawaii

Kamehameha safety Kalamaku Kuewa, a second-team All-State safety from Kamehameha who made eight interceptions during his senior season, will play for Hawaii next season. The Star-Advertiser’s Stephen Tsai broke the story, which you can read here. Kuewa ended his senior season playing in the Polynesian Bowl in January.

Mililani quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who will enter his senior season 2,057 passing yards shy of the state’s all-time career record, announced his college commitment on Twitter today. Gabriel, who is 6 feet and 185 pounds, chose Army over offers from Air Force, Navy and Hawaii. Maninoa Tufono‘s numbers for the day are 37, 14 and 2. The Punahou linebacker has 37 Division I offers (second only to Saint Louis defensive lineman Faatui Tuitele‘s 39 among Hawaii seniors-to-be). Punahou junior linebacker Maninoa Tufono, the No. 48 overall prospect in the class of 2019 according to 247Sports.com, has narrowed down his college options.
