Three of the top five teams in the state are in action tonight with a six-game slate on Oahu. Two teams that have yet to win a game in the OIA Blue face off with the loser in danger of becoming the odd team out of the OIA playoffs next month. Na Menehune WR Ryan Ramones has eight touchdown catches in his first three games. Radford, the defending Division II state champions, hasn’t scored a touchdown on offense yet this […]

Radford unveils new campus field

By Jason Kaneshiro on August 27, 2016

Radford’s return to John E. Velasco Stadium didn’t end the way the Rams had hoped. Then again, being able to host a game on campus was a bit of a victory unto itself. After losing to Pearl City on Oct. 12, 2013, Radford played its “home” games at Aiea over the next two seasons while the field was renovated. The process was complicated when military debris was uncovered during excavation work to replace the track. The Navy handled the clean-up, […]

Two teams searching for their first win in OIA play square off at Radford when the Rams host Kaiser. Series history: Kaiser has won the last three meetings, but the series is tied 9-9. By Hawaii Prep World on August 12, 2016

Week 2 of the Hawaii high school football season begins Friday with five games on Oahu and two others involving Oahu teams taking place on Maui. It’s a new era for the Divison II state champion Radford Rams, who have moved up to Division I and left their old coach, Fred Salanoa, behind. Salanoa turned the program into an annual force, but he was never able to accomplish one goal: Beat Castle coach Nelson Maeda without the ball in his […]

Former Radford LB getting noticed in Vegas

By Billy Hull on May 17, 2016

Jordan Walker had spent all of his life in Hawaii. He had just won a Division II state title completing an undefeated 13-0 season with the Radford Rams, who put together one of the best defenses in recent memory. But as we’ve seen time and time again, kids have to do what they feel is in the best interests of themselves and their families, which is why Walker had to say goodbye. In January, Walker transferred from Radford to Silverado […]
