HAWAII GROWN: Ta’amu throws for 368 yards in loss

Jordan Ta’amu completed 20 of 30 passes for 368 yards in his debut as the Ole Miss starting quarterback Saturday. Ta’amu, a 2015 Pearl City graduate, did not have a touchdown pass and he threw one interception in a 38-37 SEC loss to Arkansas. Ta’amu also rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns. The OIA Division II championship is up for grabs tonight at Aloha Stadium as undefeated Waipahu, ranked No. 9 in the state this week by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, faces a Pearl City team it beat 37-6 earlier this season. Jordan Taamu, the former Pearl City star quarterback, stepped into the role of the Ole Miss starting quarterback after Shea Patterson went down with an injury in a 40-24 loss to LSU on Saturday, according to news sources, including the Jackson Clarion-Ledger.
