Sophomore running back KJ Pascua rushed for a career-high 190 yards and five touchdowns to help ‘Iolani top 60 points in a game for the first time in the Prep Bowl/state championship era with a 62-19 win over Pac-Five on Saturday night at Aloha Stadium. Pac-Five passing the time away

By Nick Abramo on September 9, 2014

Saying Pac-Five is a passing team is an understatement. The Wolfpack football team heaves the ball over and over again. Why not? When you play against the behemoths on the defensive sevens of the ILH Division I superpowers, you just, flatly, are not going to be able to mount a running game. So, it’s pass, pass, pass for Pac-Five sophomore quarterback Kainoa Ferreira. He lit up the Halawa sky with 65 attempts in a 60-13 loss to Saint Louis on […]

LIVE BLOG: Pac-Five 26, St. Francis 21

By Paul Honda on August 29, 2014

Traffic this afternoon — I left town around 1:30 p.m. — was smooth, effortless. Beautiful. From my vantage point here at the stadium, it looks like it’s moving nicely in both directions. (It had been jammed up in the other direction from the West side due to a car accident.) I’ve been looking forward to both of these ILH league-opening games for awhile. St. Francis is 2-0. The Saints are unbeaten! They have decisive wins over Keaau and Holy Trinity […]

Pac-Five’s Ferreira sets Oahu passing record

By Billy Hull on August 17, 2014

Pac-Five opened its 2014 season in record-breaking fashion on Saturday night as sophomore quarterback Kainoa Ferreira set an Oahu high school record for passing yards in a game, finishing with 515 and six touchdowns in a 54-37 win over King Kekaulike on Maui. Ferreira, making his varsity debut, completed 34 of 64 passes to break the record held by former Wolfpack QB PJ Minaya by 4 yards. They are the only two Oahu players ever to top the 500-yard passing […]

The Raiders stepped up and rallied for a 31-19 win. Marc Ma had four sacks to spark the Raiders defensively. Wide receiver Keoni-Kordell Makekau set a school record with 220 yards on his 15 receptions.

Update: ‘Iolani 31, Pac-Five 19, final

By Paul Honda on October 4, 2013

First quarter Pac-Five’s opening series ends with a deep pass that’s intercepted near the goal line. But ‘Iolani sophomore Tamatane Aga fumbles the ball away on second down and Pac-Five recovers at the Raiders 18-yard line. RB Jordan Ross (ankle) and CBs Max Look and J.T. Los Banos are not playing for ‘Iolani. 6:13 — The Wolfpack take advantage of an ‘Iolani fumble and drive for the game’s first touchdown. Austin Silva, a 6-foot, 230-pound RB/LB, powers in for a […]
