Mililani’s starting running back often gains yardage because of an offensive line that has played at an elite level dating back well before his first start as a sophomore in 2013. Malepeai does a lot of genius work between the tackles, as well, blasting through creases and canyons at the point of attack. Trojans bring up QB Gabriel from JV team

Mililani football head coach Rod York told Hawaii Prep World on Wednesday night that he brought up freshman Dillon Gabriel from the junior varsity team to the varsity this week. The move was made after three-year starter and last year’s Honolulu Star-Advertiser All-State first-team quarterback McKenzie Milton injured his right, throwing shoulder early in last Saturday’s 45-21 win over Kailua. Mililani standout wide receiver Kalakaua Timoteo returned to practice with the Trojans on Monday and will be ready to play in the team’s regular-season finale at Moanalua on Friday, according to head coach Rod York. Timoteo sat out Mililani’s 45-21 victory over Kailua last week that clinched the OIA Blue championship and a bye in the first round of the league playoffs. Milton might make it back before OIA playoffs end

Mililani quarterback McKenzie Milton is out for three to five weeks with an AC joint separation in his right, throwing shoulder. Coach Rod York passed the news on Monday morning after Milton visited a doctor. “It’s a mid-AC separation,” York texted. Milton’s father, Mark Milton, also confirmed Monday morning that the injury is to his son’s AC (acromioclavicular) joint. Mililani head football coach Rod York confirmed that quarterback McKenzie Milton is likely out for the season after suffering a severe shoulder injury during the first quarter of tonight’s game at Kailua. “The bone was almost coming up to here,” York said, pointing to an ear.
