McGary returns to give Leilehua yet another weapon on offense

By Nick Abramo on September 1, 2018

Check the stats from Friday’s 63-12 victory over Nanakuli: >> Quarterback Max Nichols, 302 passing yards and five touchdowns. >> Wide receiver Jeremy Evans, six catches, 113 receiving yards, three touchdowns. >> Wide receiver […]

Leilehua, Kailua entertain in OT duel

By Brian McInnis on August 11, 2018

Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here? The Mules’ 9-yard touchdown connection between quarterback Max Nichols and receiver Jayzon Ramos was the difference in the 20-14 Leilehua win in overtime, but only after Kailua made a thrilling comeback to tie […]

VIDEO: Farrington-Leilehua highlights

By Paul Honda on August 7, 2018

Both Farrington and Leilehua showed promise in this nonconference battle at Hugh Yoshida Stadium on Friday night. One of the recurring themes for the visiting Governors was speed both sides of the ball. An explosive ground attack kept much of the pressure off freshman quarterback Richard Tagataese, and the Govs defense came up with six sacks and a fumble return for a score. Leilehua showed some moxie, hanging close despite early struggles. First-year starting QB Max Nichols showed big-play capability […]

Sanchez gets a win in debut as Farrington head coach

By Paul Honda on August 3, 2018

If Daniel Sanchez was nervous about his debut as a head coach, he wasn’t letting it show. In fact, it was the composure of the Farrington football staff, particularly on a night when penalties nearly derailed the Governors’ efforts, that kept the visitors one step ahead of Leilehua on Friday. The Govs pulled away for a 35-16 win as Sanchez saw his team play more consistent football after halftime, when it was close at 14-6. “We’re disappointed with the personal […]
