Leilehua’s field holds up

By Brian McInnis on September 12, 2015

When foul weather turned some fields across Oahu into soup on Friday, those fortunate enough to have artificial turf counted their blessings. The Leilehua Mules were among that group. Aside from some distant lightning raising a few concerns of postponement, Leilehua was able to go ahead with its game against Waipahu without a hitch. The Mules prevailed 38-0, improving to 2-2 in the OIA Red Conference. In the past, the Mules’ field was one of the most susceptible to turning […]

The Mules visit Castle on Friday saddled with an 0-3 record and none of the final scores were close. Historically, Castle should be just what the doctor […]

By Paul Honda on August 4, 2015

Leilehua’s athletic teams may lose two days of practice with the school announcing temporary closure due to the potential threat of a brush fire. On Monday afternoon, Mules football coach Nolan Tokuda cancelled practice due to the smoke generated by the fire. This morning, the Department of Education cancelled classes at Leilehua High School, Iliahi Elementary School, Wahiawa Elementary and Wahiawa Middle School. “Two days of no practice,” Tokuda texted early in the morning, noting that his daughter’s preschool cancelled […]
