The first of two final picks for the Polynesian Bowl from Hawaii has been made today with Kamehameha defensive back/linebacker Tiger Peterson earning an invite to the annual high school football all-star game. Peterson, who is 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, is committed to the University of Hawaii, choosing the Rainbow Warriors over offers from Air Force and Utah State. Kamehameha defensive lineman Kupono Blake has been selected to the 2019 Polynesian Bowl. The 6-foot-3, 265-pound Air Force commit has had a breakout season as a senior, putting himself in the mix for the state’s defensive player of the year award given out by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser in December. The Kamehameha Warriors again came up just short of finishing .500 for the first time under third-year head coach Abu Ma’afala, and the numbers make it pretty clear where they need to get better in order to contend.
