Kalaheo forfeits varsity football game

Kalaheo’s varsity football team is forfeiting Saturday’s Oahu Interscholastic Association regular-season opening game against Waipahu. Harold Tanaka, the OIA football coordinator, called Hawaii Prep World on Thursday to say that Kalaheo suffered some injuries in practice Thursday and it brought the total amount of players on the roster below a safe level. Pearl City runs over Kalaheo

The Chargers kept running through and around Kalaheo’s defense in a 43-8 win on Friday. Charles Freitas ran in two touchdowns for Pearl City (3-1, 3-0 OIA D-II), his second TD giving Pearl City a 37-0 lead in the second quarter.
