By Billy Hull on October 8, 2018

“After 25 years, this is the last Kaiser game I am going to announce. It has been the joy of my life. Thank you so much, I will forever bleed the blue and gold for Kaiser. Have a good night and God bless.” — And with that, Jimmy Hutcherson stepped away from the microphone high above Kaiser Stadium for the final time after a quarter-century on Friday night. Known as “Hutch” to the countless number of kids he has worked […]

Kaiser beats Pac-Five for first time; playoffs next?

By Billy Hull on October 6, 2018

Friday night marked the first time in the 46-year history of Kaiser football that the Cougars beat Pac-Five. Saturday could bring a playoff berth to a team that played only one game last season. With Pac-Five’s defense bottling up any semblance of a running game by the Cougars, Kaiser quarterback Koa Tom had to go to work in the air for any chance at a victory. The senior did that exactly that, throwing for a career-high 336 yards and four […]

PREPPING for 2018: Kaiser Cougars

By Nick Abramo on July 26, 2018

NINTH IN A SERIES Tim Seaman is the man being counted on to help Kaiser rise again. The Cougars hit rock bottom last year, forfeiting all but one of their games due to friction between parents and then-head coach Arnold Martinez and a lack of varsity players suiting up. It was pretty much a lost season. Seaman is not new to the head coaching circuit. He was head coach at Kaiser and McKinley in the 1990s. He’s got a good […]

Tim Seaman is back as a head coach. The former head man at McKinley and Kaiser in the early- to mid-1990s is back in charge of the Kaiser varsity team. Seaman, 57, was named to the post last week and Hawaii Prep World caught up with him via cell phone today. “It’s obviously a big challenge ahead for us,” he said. “Our job is to increase the numbers, participation.” After winning the Division II state championship in 2013, the Kaiser […]
