Tautofi’s Bulldogs can never be counted out

By Billy Hull on November 11, 2018

KEAAU >> After losing to Roosevelt in the OIA Division II title game, the path for Kaimuki to get to a state title game will include multiple trips to the outer islands. The first was a one-hour flight to the Big Island to face BIIF champion Kamehameha-Hawaii on Saturday night in Keaau. The weather was awful with rain coming down for the entire day and evening, yet despite five fumbles lost, including three in the fourth quarter alone, the Bulldogs […]

Kaimuki hopes to regroup after disappointing loss

By Christian Shimabuku on October 26, 2018

After shaking hands with Roosevelt in a hard fought OIA Division II title game, Kaimuki’s players walked toward the north exit of Aloha Stadium in visible disappointment, wondering what could have been. A 28-18 loss to the Rough Riders stripped the Bulldogs of what would have been the program’s third OIA title and first since 2007. Instead, it was Roosevelt that stuck around for an extended celebration after winning its first ever OIA crown. Not all is lost for the […]

TRENCH WARFARE: Kaimuki’s Sama Paama

By Billy Hull on October 26, 2018

It was a staple of Hawaii Prep World for two years back in the day. Unfortunately, we haven’t had the resources to keep doing it. However, for tonight’s OIA Division II title game between Kaimuki and Roosevet, Hawaii Prep World is bringing back its Trench Warfare series, featuring Kaimuki senior and University of Washington commit Sama Paama. An idea designed to give some due credit to the big boys in the trenches, Trench Warfare is a series that scores a […]

By Paul Honda on October 20, 2018

After 28 carries and 223 yards, plus three catches for 14 yards, Naomas Asuega-Fualaau could use a little rest. The Kaimuki junior followed his blocking teammates for gain after gain, and the Bulldogs advanced to the championship game of the OIA Division II playoffs with a hard-earned 30-14 win over Kaiser on Saturday night at John Kauinana Stadium. It was a remarkable performance, the third-highest single-game rushing total by a Kaimuki player ever. The top game is by Justin Paredes, […]

Intense rehab leads to payday for Kaimuki’s Lucero

By Nick Abramo on October 20, 2018

Enzo Lucero‘s football season was over in July. But because of his hard work in rehab, he’s back in business on the football field for Kaimuki. Lucero had two sacks and batted down a pass in the Bulldogs’ 30-14 victory over Kaiser in the OIA Division II semifinals. The win locked up a berth in the state D-II tournament. Now, Kaimuki (9-2, 8-0) gets Roosevelt for the league’s D-II title on Friday at Aloha Stadium. Lucero sounded like he was […]
