Faith Lutheran, Kaimuki broaden FB horizons

The Faith Lutheran football team got to come from Las Vegas to Hawaii to play a game at Aloha Stadium. Kaimuki got to test its program against a mainland team. One player does not make a football team, but one player can make a huge difference. It was extremely noticeable Sunday at Aloha Stadium that Billy Masima was not in Kaimuki’s lineup. Leaving the comfortable confines to fly across the Pacific Ocean during hurricane season requires a leap of faith. No less so when your starting quarterback goes down with an injury three snaps into a game. KAIMUKI RECORD BOOK KAIMUKI 2016 PAGE KAIMUKI HISTORY You can’t start a varsity career much better than Kaimuki’s Jordan Solomon did on Saturday evening. The Bulldogs’ sophomore quarterback took advantage of Kaimuki’s pass-happy play calling and set a school record with 331 yards in a dramatic 22-20 overtime victory over Waialua in the OIA D-II opener for both teams at Kaiser Stadium.
