Defending state champion Kahuku hosted Campbell for a scrimmage on Thursday, and a good time was had by all (except for the screaming coaches). “Ever since Thanksgiving we have been going against our teammates,” Kahuku defensive end Lamone Williams said. “It was good to go against somebody else.” Williams ended Campbell’s last possession of the scrimmage with a sack of the quarterback, making up for being blocked on the previous play and a long pass to start the 2-minute drill. Update 10:14 p.m. What a finish! Kahuku wins in double overtime, 13-10. The Mules had a chance to win in the first overtime, but Tim Momiyama’s 42-yard field-goal try was wide right. He nailed a 37-yarder in the second overtime, but Kahuku drove and won it on a 3-yard leap over the goal line by Aofaga Wily. Great game, two great teams, pure class.
