Lee Leslie, who spent one year as the Kahuku football coach, is the new head coach at McCall-Donnelly High in McCall, Idaho, according to KTVB.com. Leslie went 9-3 with the Red Raiders, who made it as far as the state semifinals, but left after one season to return to his family in Idaho. Kahuku is down to five finalists for the vacant head football coach job, according to sources close to the program. According to multiple sources, four candidates are confirmed. Former Dixie State football coach Greg Croshaw is one of many applicants for the Kahuku football head coaching position, a trusted source close to Kahuku football said yesterday. Croshaw went 214-56-1 with Dixie State, before it moved from junior college to NCAA Division II. Darren Johnson, the former Kailua head coach and Kahuku assistant who is currently a Kapolei assistant confirmed he applied for the job as well, and another source said Asai Gilman is another candidate for the position. Kahuku safety Hirkley Latu, who is orally committed to play for BYU in 2016, has at least five Division I offers, according to Scout.com. Latu, who helped the Red Raiders make the state semifinals last season as a junior, received an offer from Oregon State last month. He has three other Pac-12 offers — Cal, Utah and Washington State. Kahuku has formed a selection committee that has begun reviewing applications for the football head coach job, according to athletic director Gillian Yamagata. Due to a confidentiality policy, Yamagata confirmed that the school could not release a list of applicants or candidates who applied before Friday’s deadline.
