Kahuku storms back from first deficit

By Jason Kaneshiro on September 13, 2015

Facing a deficit for the first time this season, Kahuku responded with a six-touchdown flurry in less than a quarter in Saturday’s 42-6 win over Castle. The fourth-ranked Red Raiders had surrendered just one touchdown through their first four games and had gone nearly a month since an opposing player reached the end zone entering Saturday’s OIA Red game. Kahuku QB situation worthy of a look

By Nick Abramo on August 29, 2015

Kahuku is the No. 4 team in the state and the 127th-ranked team in the nation. On the fourth-quarter play that you can watch here: http://t.maxpreps.com/1Lw6lNG, Botelho takes a Kaiser punt and begins to return it. He fumbles and the football takes on Ping-Pong characteristics, with players seemingly recovering it, only to let the ball slip away. Up and down the field the ball goes until it emerges into the hands […]

By Nick Abramo on August 18, 2015

Kahuku kicker Kekoa Sasaoka has one scholarship offer and two other schools intereested in his services. Army offered Sasaoka in March, and the senior Honolulu Star-Advertiser All-State second team selection is being actively recruited by Hawaii and Cal. The recruiting point man at Army is former Waipahu head coach Sean Saturnio, who is a Black Knights assistant. Sasaoka made the switch from Farrington to Kahuku this season and believes more offers may be coming his way. “My mom has lived […]
