Kahuku safety Kesi Ah-Hoy will stay home after committing to Hawaii on Sunday. Here’s Stephen Tsai‘s story in Monday’s Honolulu Star-Advertiser. Ah-Hoy, who is 6 feet and 205 pounds, also had offers from Oregon State, Brigham Young and Army. He projects to play a kind of hyrbid position between safety and linebacker. #GoBows pic.twitter.com/JCQMWotaj8 — Kesi Ah-Hoy (@kesiahhoy) December 5, 2016 Hawaii High School Football Recruiting

Kahuku’s Kaniho lands in national record book

By Paul Honda on November 22, 2016

According to National Federation of High School (NFHS) records, Kekaula Kaniho of Kahuku ranks second all-time for most interceptions returned for touchdowns in one season. Nobody’s talking about the elephant in the room, and now is a good time to get the conversation started. Or should we call it the elephant package that wasn’t used as much as it could have been? The focus right now is squarely and deservedly on Saint Louis, and more specifically on star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa after the Crusaders’ 30-14 victory over Kahuku for the Open Division championship Saturday night at Aloha Stadium. But that focus up until kickoff (actually, […]

Kahuku’s dynamic D finishes a win short

By Christian Shimabuku on November 20, 2016

Kahuku went 24-2 overall in the past two seasons, thanks in large part to a suffocating defense led by its secondary. Starting cornerbacks Kekaula Kaniho and Stokes Nihipali-Bothelho, both seniors, ended their high school careers with a 30-14 loss to Saint Louis in the HHSAA Open division championship game. Though it’s not the way either wanted to end their prep careers, both took it in stride. “They earned that win. Any team can win on any given night and they […]
