Saludares, Hirata take BIIF golf titles

Waiakea’s Kaley Saludares came from three shots back to pass first-round leader Shantel Antonio of Kamehameha-Hawaii and win the BIIF girls golf championship at the Club at Hokulia on Tuesday. Sauludares shot a 9-over 81 in the second round to finish at 16-over 160, 3 shots clear of Antonio. Hirata, Antonio lead BIIF golf

Waiakea’s Trevor Hirata shot a 68, with a 32 on the back, in the first round of the BIIF golf championships at Hualalai on Sunday. Hirata leads Preston Ching of Kamehameha-Hawaii by eight strokes with the final round set for Tuesday. Kamehameha-Hawaii’s Shantel Antonio shot a 76 to lead Waiakea’s Kaley Saludares by three strokes in the girls tournament. Hirano’s eagle draws some hoots and hollers

Spencer Dunaway of Kamehameha wasn’t the only one making noise during the ILH championship golf tournament on Thursday at Turtle Bay’s Fazio Course. Dunaway birdied the 18th hole to win the title by one stroke. A little earlier, Punahou’s Remington Hirano chipped in for eagle on the 277-yard par-4 14th. Galdiano, Otani sleep on ILH golf leads

Punahou’s Mariel Galdiano and Andrew Otani of Iolani lead after the first day of the ILH golf championships held at Oahu Country Club. The final round is Thursday at Turtle Bay, the leaders will go off at around 8:10 with boys and girls alternating. Galdiano leads teammate Allisen Corpuz by four strokes after shooting a 66 at OCC. Iolani’s Rose Huang is another shot back. Galdiano is the defending champion after beating teammate Aiko Leong by a stroke last year. […]

Hirata, Saludares win BIIF golf titles

Waiakea’s Trevor Hirata shot a 37 on the back nine at Kohanaiki Golf and Ocean Club to win the BIIF boys individual title. Hirata finished with a 76 to beat teammate Shon Katahira by two strokes. Kalai Pomroy of Kamehameha-Hawaii was third with a 79. Waiakea easily won the team title with 339 strokes to Kamehameha-Hawaii’s 356.
