Former Gov gets offers from Ole Miss, Hawaii

Two Division I colleges — Ole Miss and Hawaii — offered a football scholarship this week to former Farrington athlete David Luafatasaga, according to the Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance website. Raised in Samoa, Luafatasaga played linebacker for the Governors in football and forward in basketball before graduating in 2013. He is 6 feet 4 and 225 pounds and had 66 tackles for Arizona Western last fall as a freshman. Arizona State previously offered Luafatasaga a scholarship, according to JCfootball.com.

Three players from Hawaii were selected to play in the 2015 Under Armour All-America game today in St. Petersburg, Fla. The game is being shown live on ESPN2 at 11 a.m. Saint Louis offensive lineman Fred Ulu-Perry (6-3, 307), who is committed to UCLA, is listed as the No. 4 offensive guard prospect by ESPN.com but is expected to play center for the Bruins. Mililani drops to No. 21 in MaxPreps

The computer is fickle, to say the least. Mililani slipped four notches to No. 21 in the latest CBS MaxPreps Top 100 Computer Football Rankings released on Monday. The Trojans (13-0) won the state football championship on Nov. 21. In the same rankings, Punahou (8-1) dropped nine spots to No. 51. Mililani enters USA Today Super 25

The work has been done, and now the Mililani Trojans can see a ripple effect. The Trojans, who won the state football championship on Nov. 21, entered the USA Today Super 25 national rankings on Monday at No. 25. Under Armour All-America Game honored Farrington senior Breiden Fehoko today in a ceremony at the school. Fehoko, a defensive tackle, was selected to play in the all-star game, which will be played on Jan. 2. The 6-foot-3, 286-pound standout choked up and wiped away tears during his speech. “I really enjoyed it. Punahou, ranked No. 21 last week, was dropped from the CBS MaxPreps Xcellent 25 national rankings on Monday. Punahou (8-0) edged Kahuku 13-10 in the state semifinals on Saturday at Aloha Stadium. MaxPreps’ computerized rankings has the Buffanblu at No. 19 as of Monday. The same computer ratings list has Mililani (12-0) at No. 28.
