Reliable place-kicker Kekoa Sasaoka is playing for Kahuku this season after transferring earlier this summer from Farrington. Sasaoka, who is 5 feet 9 and 219 pounds, made the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s All-State second team as a junior for the Governors a year ago. Earlier this week, Farrington coach Randall Okimoto confirmed Sasaoka transferred to the OIA rival Red Raiders. Kaiser loses quarterback to Farrington

Junior Justin Uahinui, who was set to be the starting quarterback for Kaiser this season, has transferred to Farrington according to Cougars head coach Cameron Higgins. Higgins said before Monday’s practice that he found out “a couple of days ago right before camp” of Uahinui’s decision to transfer from other players on the team. Harvard no. Yale yes. A recruiting website has Farrington linebacker Jeremiah Pritchard listed as having received interest from Harvard. It’s not true, Pritchard said, but Yale made a call. “A Yale assistant coach messaged me and wanted to know my grades and SAT scores,” Pritchard said during a phone interview Friday. Farrington LB Pritchard draws D-I offers

Colorado, Hawaii and UNLV are among the schools that have offered a scholarship to Farrington outside linebacker Jeremiah Pritchard, according to Scout.com. Pritchard was part of a Governors team that finished third in the OIA and lost to eventual state champion Mililani, 17-14, in the state Division I semifinals. New girls VB coach among Govs’ changes

Changes are coming to Farrington High School’s campus, but there’s one that involves the girls volleyball program. Barney Choy is the new head coach, athletic director Harold Tanaka said. He replaces Reagan Agena. Choy has experience as a club coach. His daughter, Bailey Choy, plays for ‘Iolani. Former Gov Luafatasaga commits to Ole Miss

Former Farrington athlete David Luafatasaga made an oral commitment to play football for Ole Miss next season, according to the Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance Facebook page. Raised in Samoa, Luafatasaga played linebacker for the Governors in football and forward in basketball before graduating in 2013. He is 6 feet 4 and 225 pounds and had 66 tackles for Arizona Western last fall as a freshman. Arizona State and Hawaii also offered Luafatasaga scholarships.
