Athletes of the Week Girls Lia Gaogao, Moanalua volleyball: The 5-foot-10 sophomore drilled 14 kills as No. 3 Moanalua fought off then-No. 8 Castle 25-20,23-25, 15-6.   Boys Larry “Tui” Tuileta, Punahou football: The two-sport standout shined again on the Aloha Stadium turf, passing for 358 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-14 win over Kamehameha. Here are the recommendations from the athletic directors’ conference on Kauai. The conference began on Thursday, ended Saturday and resulted in the following approved proposals. It was a special time for a special class, which is why they made a morning of it at Kapolei. The Hurricanes gathered, 17 strong, for a ceremony to honor the college-bound student athletes. Among the 17, who were with family at the breakfast event in the school gym, was pitcher Trey Kamachi-Allen. The senior is on his way to Arizona State, his school of choice.
