Injury forces Castle’s Smith to step in at QB

Castle’s Makana Smith proved Saturday that he’s not your typical backup quarterback. Smith came off the bench to complete 6-of-12 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for a score as Castle beat host Radford 33-28 in an OIA Division I game. Castle to get new LED stadium lights

New LED lights are being installed at the Castle football field, according to Department of Education spokesperson Lindsay Chambers. The work is planned to begin in October and that’s why the Knights’ schedule was changed to all road games for its Oahu Interscholastic Association season. Castle is experiencing problems with the lights at its football field and will be playing all 2017 league games on the road against the regularly scheduled opponents.
