GAME NIGHT 10/1: Castle/Kailua

By Hawaii Prep World on October 1, 2016

The OIA Division I regular season ends with one of Oahu’s best rivalries, Castle and Kailua. The Surfriders have won the last four games in the series, the Knights have not won since 2010. Kailua (3-3, 3-3 OIA Red) gets the No. 4 seed and a home game in the first round of the OIA playoffs next week with a win. A win for Castle (3-4, 2-4) would result in a three-way tie for fourth place with Leilehua and the […]

Castle’s McGoldrick thrives in role reversal

By Jason Kaneshiro on September 24, 2016

A proven playmaker catching the ball, Jeremy McGoldrick took advantage of his opportunity to sling it on Friday. Usually a dynamic wide receiver, McGoldrick made his first start at quarterback and contributed to all four Castle touchdowns in the Knights’ 30-16 win over Nanakuli on homecoming/senior night. McGoldrick found out he’d start at quarterback just before kickoff and scored on a 63-yard keeper on the third play of the game. He went on to run for 156 yards, threw for 237 yards […]

GAME NIGHT 9/16: Castle/Leilehua

By Hawaii Prep World on September 16, 2016

Only two ranked teams are in action Friday night in a seven-game slate scheduled for Oahu. Don’t look now but Leilehua has won two of three since that brutal 0-3 start against three top-five teams. The Mules (2-4, 2-3) and the Castle Knights (2-3, 1-3) have an important game Friday. The winner is pretty much assured a playoff berth minus a crazy finish to the regular season. A Castle loss would turn next week’s game against Nanakuli into a must-win […]

It was rush week for Mililani offense

By Nick Abramo on August 21, 2016

Can run. Can pass. It won’t be easy for opponents to stop Mililani this season, even without the three departed superstars that fired up the offense for three seasons in a row. The sixth-ranked Trojans rushed (yes, you read that correctly … rushed) for 335 yards in a 42-0 home rout of previously unbeaten Castle. But, what’s more, sophomore quarterback Dillon Gabriel was highly effective, completing 14 of 20 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns. Gabriel released his passes […]
