Spikers lead LOI fall signing class

A dozen volleyball players were among nearly three dozen student-athletes who signed their letters of intent early Wednesday morning at the Elks Lodge in Waikiki. The event, hosted each signing season by Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance (PIAA), featured a multitude of sports for the fall signing period. The 12 volleyball players include UH signee McKenna Granato, who sparked Punahou to the state championship last week. Pearl City boys aim at 5 straight state titles

Hawaii will have a new individual high school boys bowling champion this week. The Billy Tees Bowling State Championships start Thursday and run through Saturday at KBXtreme in Kailua-Kona. Pearl City’s Nicholas Azumi, last year’s boys champion, has graduated. Among the top contenders this year are ILH champion Nicholas Lacaden of University and OIA title winner Ryan Kajihiro of Pearl City. Saili, Lacaden are tops in ILH bowling singles

University’s Nicholas Lacaden and Punahou’s Anastasia Saili won singles titles at the ILH bowling championships at Hickam Bowling Center on Friday night. Hawaii Baptist’s Bailey Lee and Owen Saito took boys doubles titles, and Sacred Hearts’ Caitlin Cunningham and Hailey Ganiron earned girls doubles crowns. Hawaii Baptist, Punahou qualify for states

Hawaii Baptist clinched first place in ILH boys bowling Monday with a 2-1 win over ‘Iolani at in the regular-season finale at Hickam Bowling Center. The Eagles clinched a spot in the state tournament, which will be held Oct. 30 through Nov. Nov. 1 in Kailua-Kona. Punahou wrapped up second place and a spot in the states. Pearl City won its fifth straight OIA boys bowling championship and its fourth straight OIA girls title on Thursday at Schofield Bowling Center. Sacred Hearts, Hawaii Baptist qualify for states

Sacred Hearts wrapped up an undefeated season at 30-0 with a 3-0 victory over Island Pacific on Wednesday in the ILH bowling regular-season finales at Hickam Bowling Center.
