Pearl City boys and girls bowlers win

Pearl City’s boys and girls teams won Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division bowling matches at Schofield Lanes on Thursday. Kristin Frost led the Chargers girls with a 211 game and a 590 series, and Kristopher Yadao was the top Chargers boys bowler with a 232 game and a 609 series. Results follow. The Hawaii Baptist boys bowling team picked up where it left off last year, sweeping Hanalani in ILH play on Wednesday night at Hickam Bowling Center. The Eagles were led by Joshua Joo’s high game of 206 and high series of 560. The series was the highest of all ILH bowlers on Wednesday. Pearl City’s Kristopher Yadao rolled a high game of 236 to pace the Chargers to a total team pinfall of 2,756 on OIA West Bowling at Schofield Lanes on Thursday. The Chargers were followed by Kapolei (2,277) and Waipahu (2,169). The Hurricanes were led by Jaysten Jones‘ high game of 187 and Anthony Brett’s high series of 518 and Daniel Odette-Spillner led Waipahu with a 233 and 574. The Pearl City girls bowling team lost two seniors to graduation, but the Chargers appear to be as strong as ever. The defending four time state and ILH champions knocked down 2,588 pins in the first OIA West competition of the season on Thursday at Schofield Lanes.
