‘Iolani leads a tight race for the girls team title after bowling deep into the night at the Billy Tee’s/HHSAA State Bowling Championships at Hickam Bowling Center on Thursday. The Raiders knocked down 4,504 pins over six games to lead Campbell by 42 pins and Hawaii Baptist by 198. Maeha begins OIA bowling season with top series

Two time defending state champion Gwen Maeha of Leilehua put up a 519 series to pace the girls in the opener of OIA West bowling at Schofield Lanes on Thursday. Maeha’s effort was highlighted by a high game of 189. Campbell’s Kourtney Adams was right behind her with a 506 series but beat Maeha with a high game of 192. Court dismisses bowler’s lawsuit against ILH

A lawsuit filed by the family of bowler Anastasia Saili against the Interscholastic League of Honolulu has been dismissed by U.S. District Court Judge J. Michael Seabright. Saili, a senior at Sacred Hearts, unsuccessfully tried to regain her eligibility for the bowling season last fall. The suit also asked for punitive damages of “not less than five million dollars” from the ILH. Iolani boys grab ILH bowling title

Iolani’s volleyball team is not the only squad on campus looking to return to prominence. The boys bowling team beat Punahou 2-1 this week to secure its place in states, a rare occurrence indeed. Kennan Kaneshiro led the way for the Raiders with a 202 game and Austin Okazaki had the high series with a 561.
