With bowl win, Saint Louis can be the fourth GEICO series team to finish season undefeated

The GEICO State Champions Bowl Series that the Saint Louis Crusaders will be playing in on either Dec. 20 or 21 in Las Vegas has been around since 2014. No games, however, were held in 2015. The season isn’t over quite yet for four-time Hawaii state champion Saint Louis. The Crusaders will be playing in the Geico State Champions Bowl Series on either Dec. 21 or 22 in Las Vegas against an opponent who has yet to be determined. Saint Louis’ Jordan Botelho will represent Hawaii in All-American Bowl

Saint Louis linebacker Jordan Botelho, a Notre Dame commit, is going to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio. He is the only invitee from Hawaii and was honored with an All-American Bowl jersey presentation at the school’s Mamiya Theatre on Monday morning. Botelho’s parents — Leon Botelho and Valerie Oh — were there at the presentation along with school president Glenn Medeiros. Coach Cal Lee was unable to attend the ceremony. For the first time ever, three different quarterbacks threw for more than 3,000 yards in a single season on Oahu. Saint Louis’ Jayden de Laura leads the group that includes Kaimuki sophomore Jayden Maiava and Moanalua senior RJ Javar. With Friday night’s 45-6 win over Kahuku to end the prep football season, the Saint Louis Crusaders inched even closer to the Kahuku Red Raiders. The win brings a seventh koa trophy to Kalaepohaku, just one shy of Kahuku’s record of eight in the top-tier state championship.
