Rosters released for 2019 JPS Senior Bowl Classic

The third annual Junior Prep Sports Senior Bowl Classic is tonight at Aloha Stadium with a doubleheader featuring four teams from Hawaii. A Veterans game between Team Liberty and Team Freedom will start things off at 4:30 p.m. followed by the nightcap, a Commanders game between Team Liberty and Team Freedom. Saint Louis quarterback Jayden de Laura was picked as the Gatorade Hawaii Football Player of the Year, the Gatorade Company announced today De Laura is the 12th Gatorade football honoree from the Crusaders. The award recognizes outstanding athletic excellence, high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field. New Maui football coach Robert Dougherty knows turnarounds

New Maui High football coach Robert Dougherty has been part of a major turnaround before. He’ll be hoping to do that turnaround thing again as the Sabers coach. Saint Louis quarterback Jayden de Laura was named the ILH offensive most valuable player while Kamehameha defensive end/linebacker Ezra Evaimalo was named the defensive MVP. The league released its all-star team in the Open Division today as voted on by league coaches.
