The awards and honors are piling up for Christmas Togiai. The Kamehameha senior was named Gatorade boys basketball player of the year in Hawaii on Thursday. Togiai averaged 14 points, six rebounds and nearly three blocks per game for the Warriors. He was voted by coaches and media the Star-Advertiser All-State player of the year. Christmas Togiai leads the 2019-20 Star-Advertiser Boys Basketball All-State selections published in Sunday’s edition. Voted by coaches and media as player of the year, Togiai outpointed Niko Robben of Maryknoll. Despite his season ending in the state semifinals with a serious knee injury, Kamehameha senior Christmas Togiai was named the ILH most valuable player in Division I today.
