Mililani hires basketball, wrestling coaches

Jason Tittle is the new boys basketball coach at Mililani, Trojans athletic director Glenn Nitta said Monday.

Tittle, who is a teacher at Mililani Middle School, was Mililani’s junior varsity coach since 2008. He won three Oahu Interscholastic Association JV championships and four OIA Western Division JV titles. He went 69-16 overall, including playoffs.

Tittle takes the reins from Ed Gonzales, who was with the Trojans’ varsity or junior varsity teams for 18 seasons. He led Mililani to the state tournament in 2010, ’11, ’13 and ’14.

Jamie Keehu-Conway is the Trojans’ new wrestling coach, Nitta said Monday.

A 2002 Mililani graduate, Keehu-Conway has been associated with Trojans wrestling for 17 years, including four as a wreslter and 13 as a volunteer and assistant coach.

He coached the Mililani boys to the OIA JV championship last spring. He was also an assistant with the 2012 Mililani varsity OIA championship and state runner-up team.

Keehu-Conway takes over the head coaching position vacated by John Robinson, who spent 10 years with the Mililani wrestling program as an assisant or head coach.

Sad to see Fast Eddie go. But Coach Tittle is a fine hire. He is a Mililani Middle School teacher. He has been part of this community for a while. And he has success at JV. He knows the kids in Mililani and will do fine. Good luck Coach!
